Chicago Il, Spring Awakening Music Festival released its full festival lineup earlier today. Much to the relief of those who already purchased tickets to the event, a final location was also announced. SAMF2016 will be held at Addams/Medill Park, on the south/west side of Chicago. The event on June 10th-12th will have 5 total stages, with 2 branded mini-stages each day (6 in total).
For those who have been out of the loop, we mentioned a few weeks ago that Spring Awakening was in jeopardy. The festival was ousted from its previous home at Soldier Field. There was a lot of speculation that this might be the end of the festival due to the size of the event and the limited spaces that could accommodate. Eventually another location was secured at Jackson Park, but once again hope was almost lost when the event was kicked out AGAIN. At long last, the event has settled in Addams/Medill Park. It’s much closer to the city and makes for a significantly shorter trek for those traveling to the event. It’s not Soldier Field by any means, but it’ll do.
So, with that excitement out of the way, take a look at the full lineup below:
We’ve got Above & Beyond (who’ve been all over Chicago the last few months), Blau, Chainsmokers, Deadmau5…… some big name that starts with an ‘E’? Essentially an A-Z of artists ready to kill it. We could go on and on about this lineup, but you’ve just seen it for yourself. Get excited!
It’s been an incredibly bumpy ride for the festival, but it’s been worth the wait. We’ve got a place to go, the lineup is incredible, and now we just have to play the waiting game.
