Spring Awakening has finally opened the floodgates making the announcement we were all waiting to hear. The 2015 official festival lineup has been released, and the lineup is better than ever. A ton of favorites have returned to headline, and a few performers have been promoted to the main stage. SAMF2015 has certainly built on the success of the previous years and this festival will be better than ever.
Last year led strong with Tiesto closing the first night of the festival. He’s set up to return once again and given the job as festival closer. Instead of his former Friday night leadoff spot, he’ll be closing down the party on Sunday night. This was the spot previously held by Chicago-native Kaskade (who absolutely killed it). Kaskade is surprisingly absent from this years lineup but there are still more artists to be announced (so fingers crossed)!
Two other great artists are returning for upgraded spots on the lineup this year. Eric Prydz is back in action, and this year he’s been upgraded to a headliner. Last year he led into Tiesto on the main stage and earned his Spring Awakening wings. The legend killed it last year and this spot is well-deserved. The second artist being upgraded to lead is Diplo. He ran an incredible on the outdoor open stage, but will now be on the Saturday night main stage.
Zedd, Afrojack, and Hardwell are the three remaining headliners to filling out the lineup. They have all been doing a great number of shows in the Chicago area this last year and are now syncing up with #SAMF2015. Other great performers to make it this year include Adventure club, Paul Van Dyk, and Dada Life. There are too many amazing producers to list out as this year will be bigger than ever.
The last fun piece about this year, is the announcement that EVERYONE will get cloth wristbands for the festival. This is a nice little upgrade that everyone appreciates. Little touches like this certainly elevate the festival, but lets just hope they’ve added more water stations!
Spring Awakening 2015 will be held June 12th-14th at Solider Field in Chicago. This year the event will be 18+ for the first time, much to the excitement of adult EDM fans. The full lineup along with additional announcements can be found at the Spring Awakening Music Festival website, here.
